What you are seeing is called the "Frankfurter Weg". Frankfurt is one of four cities in Europe that doesn't force addicts to the outskirts and instead leaves them in their quarter. The Frankfurt main station district is completely save and these people just live there. Yes, it is not what you see usually, but it is enough to treat them as human beings, which they are, and nothing will happen. The area is completely safe, so don't get your panties in a bunch.

I can assure you it was the same for 30 years. I hated Frankfurt and never ventured out into the city. I also don't understand why this kind of situation is tolerated.

Isn't there any classy dancing places to go anymore. All these slutty sloppy looking clothing the people are wearing. They just remind me of Walmart people no sense of style no smooth jazz to listen to just the typical garbage and the bars they just want to get you drunk take your money. And people get laid the typical crap. It's so hard to find a high class establishment to go to to do a little bit of dancing maybe listen to sell and play the piano guitar Smooth Jazz sax.

I lived in eckenheimer landstrasse in 1990 and even then walking through the park at the top end of eckenheimer at night was dangerous. I remember 2 Turkish guys attacked me walking home from a bar and they took my f k n designer runners 😂😂😂😂😂 and haupbanhoff was also a place you wouldn't want to spend to much time at. Even back then it was seedy and criminal activity going on.

i was born and i'm still living in Kalamata. i hope you liked my town. the beach part is more crowded on summer and a bit of September. when it's summer, a lot of people change location from Aristomenous avenue to the beach part, and when summer ends they return to Aristomenous avenue.

My wife and I traveled to Germany in 1999. On our last night, prior to taking the flight back to Dallas Fort Worth we stayed in a pension a few floors up from the street and a couple of blocks from the train station. Rick Steves recommended the pension. It was cheap and clean. The area looks considerably worse than what it looked like 25 years ago. A lot more litter. A lot more young men.

I am from Detroit and have family in Chi-town I often visit (South side). Athens is very safe and everyone I met was nice. But just as any place you go, if you are respectful and mind your business, usually no one local or otherwise will bother you. It's simply a difference in culture and what our personal ideas of safety and comfortable are. A smile or nod goes a long way in any "hood".

Obviously you are not an Athenian and surely you have never been there, otherwise you would know that Kolonaki is one if not the safest place to be be in Athens and Greece in General

For some reason this neighborhood has the reputation of being the expensive to live to rent to shop ext etc Rich people like to live there but if you ask if I could afford a rent there then I would probably prefer to spend it to rent a place in North suburbs like Kifisia which there is more space and nice houses with gardens and sophisticated places or in Athens riviera close to the sea with some very nice areas. I don't know and I can't criticize rich people when they want to live on top of each other meaning they have lack of space

Well, After 4 days sleeping in Omonia's área, specifically in street "Averof" Next to Nacional Archeological Museum, we have not experienced nothing bad with people. Maybe one or two drug addict in the street, but nothing impressive or feeling dangerous. We have walked through the street "28is Oktovirou" and "Patision" at 23h at night with no problem

Im onus is colourful but safe. I lived here in omonia 6 years and nothing happened to me, ever. I never saw drunken violence I never saw a fight nothing. There’s vice here but if I leave them alone they leave u alone.

I lived in FfM for 20 years and went through that area all times of day and night and never had a problem Just like a big city anywhere else, don’t look like a lost tourist and walk like you belong there and know where you’re going and you’ll be fine Germany has much lower violent crime rates against persons than the US, it’s not even close

I walked through there in 2019, it was the same. I have to say though that I never felt personally threatened by anyone, but I agree it wasn't pleasant to look at. The reality is that no one there's looking to hurt you, they just seem to mind their own business. So unless you're looking to try and steal someone's crack pipe, I think you'll be ok lol. I also have to say that some of the comments people left in this video are ridiculous. It amazed me how many people who watched this automatically assumed that all of Frankfurt was like this, and some were even contemplating canceling their trips over it lmao. I've been all over the world, and Frankfurt is one of the nicest place's I've been to. Of course like anywhere, it's going to have bad areas. That's actually the general rule about areas in the vicinity of major train stations throughout Europe.
